Day trips from Moscow

Compare a day in Kolomna, Zvenigorod, Dmitrov or Serpukhov, or take a drive to an estate.

For a historic town

Kolomna’s kremlin and old trading quarter are walkable. Dmitrov offers a compact route from the station to the earthworks and Kropotkin’s house. Allow extra time in Kolomna for museums and the return from the pier.

For exhibitions and quieter streets

In Zvenigorod, take local transport from the station to the Manege, then walk the centre and make a separate hop to the monastery. Serpukhov’s art museum and Church of the Intercession share a street, so you can book two visits and fit lunch between them.

For estates and monastery architecture

Abramtsevo and Sergiev Posad combine well by car. By train, give either destination its own day: the journey and the walk or ride from the station will take part of the morning.
