Before departure

Confirm entry requirements for your passport with the consulate and check your government’s travel advice. If considering an electronic visa, use the foreign ministry portal for eligibility, timing and approved checkpoints. Ask your hotel which documents it needs at check-in.

Airport, metro and suburban trains

Check what transport serves your airport. On the metro, look for the line number, terminus and numbered exit. Buy a ticket or Troika card at a ticket office; check your separate ticket and the return timetable for suburban trains.

Payments, connectivity and addresses

Ask your bank and hotel which payment methods will work. Check roaming or local mobile service requirements. Save Russian addresses, booking numbers and an offline map so you can show them to a driver or at an entrance.

Tickets and accessibility

Book through the venue. Check the exact entrance and tour language. If you need step-free access or a lift, contact the venue first: buildings and exits at one station can differ.
