A classical palace ensemble with terraces, sculpture and long views through formal gardens.
The story of this place
Arkhangelskoye's familiar ensemble took shape around the turn of the 19th century under the Golitsyn and Yusupov families. French architect Jacques-Jacob Guerne designed the main house, whose construction and decoration continued for many years.
Terraces, staircases and sculpture connect the palace to its park. The estate also includes the Gonzaga Theatre and the later Colonnade. Architecture composed around the high bank of the Moskva River defines its character.
