An intimate literary estate with Baratynsky’s house and the Tyutchev family’s heritage.
The story of this place
Muranovo's main house was built in 1841–1842 to poet Yevgeny Baratynsky's ideas and drawings. His architectural sketches survive, and the estate is also associated with the Engelhardt, Putyata and Tyutchev families.
The museum bears Fyodor Tyutchev's name through family possessions and manuscripts preserved by his descendants. This memorial connection should not be confused with the poet living in the house. Interiors and parkland explore 19th-century literary and family culture.
