The story of this place

Vyazyomy brings together monuments from different periods. The Transfiguration Church and its belfry date from the late 16th century, while the palace estate developed later under the Golitsyn family.

A stone palace and wings were built in the late 18th century. The estate belongs to the literary geography of Pushkin's childhood: his family spent summers at nearby Zakharovo. Today the two estates are separate sites within one museum-reserve.
