A classical manor with four wings, parkland and connections to the young Mikhail Lermontov.
The story of this place
Serednikovo's architectural ensemble took shape in the late 18th century. Galleries connect the main house to four wings, forming a symmetrical composition facing a park with ponds and bridges.
Dmitry Stolypin, a relative of Mikhail Lermontov's grandmother, acquired the estate in 1825. The poet visited in the late 1820s and early 1830s. Its literary associations concern his youth, while the buildings represent an earlier tradition of country-house classicism near Moscow.
