The story of this place

Architect Alexey Dushkin designed the department store on the site of the former Lubyanka Arcade. Detsky Mir opened in 1957.

The building was listed as a cultural heritage site in 2005. The store reopened after reconstruction in 2015. Visitors can see its arched façade and look out over Lubyanka Square from the rooftop deck.
